LuxaLight Long Life LED-strip HD107S Digital SPI
The HD107S is the upgraded version of the APA102C LED chip.
Controller chip
These digital LED strips have the special APA102 (HD107S) LEDs that are internally equipped with a controller chip (embedded) that makes it possible to control each LED individually in color and brightness. The HD107S ICs can therefore be individually addressed, allowing for color effects, color gradients or other effects.
The HD107S
There are 256 dimming settings per color, 3 * 256 = 16.7 million different colors. The HD107S has a higher PWM refresh rate (26kHz. 6kHz more than apa102) and an oscillating frequency of 40MHz. 400 FPS is possible with this IC. which greatly reduces the flickering of the LEDs
Advantages over APA102C
The big advantage of the HD107S is that there are 2 signal outputs (data and clock). The data and clock synchronize with each other so that the last LED is on the same frame as the first LED. Other benefits:
